The Webmaster is going to redesign this Guest Log to restrict the many spurious advertising and sometimes nasty postings we've been receiving from those who are not interested in VIRGINIA or this web site. Once it is finished everyone will be able to complete an on-line form that will be sent only to the Webmaster who will then screen these postings and place the valid ones on the web site for all to read. THANKS!

Outstanding website. Greetings to all you great submariners back there in Virginia. I am a member of USSVI's Bullhead Base in New Mexico, named after the last sub we lost in WWII, in fact, Bullhead was sunk on the very day when we dropped the bomb on Hiroshima, ironically, a bomb conceived and built here in NM. I served on Barbero SSG317, Lafayette SSBN616B, Amberjack SS522 and Odax SS484. Dick Brown, ex-ETR2(SS)

I am looking for and have been trying to get in touch with Robert J. Flick. I know that in 1977 he was stationed in Scotland onboard the USS HOLLAND. The last I heard he was stationed someplace in Virginia and had the rank of PFC ( I believe ) in the firefighters. Can someone please please please help me locate him ????? My contact information is Connie_Gates@BD.com and/or ( 201 ) 847 3140 or ( 973 ) 634 - 6115. Thank you so much for your help. I truly appreciate anything you can do.

To the Captain, crew and builders of the most powerful naval vessel in the world - Congratulations and God Speed. As a Navy vet, tin can sailor who used to try and catch you guys, I salute you. I was a Boilerman on a tin can and every time a sub surfaced I would try to get on deck to see you and envy all of what I saw, including the USS Nautilus, the first atomic sub. All this was in 1954/1957 Again, God Speed and Protect You, Keep your feet dry! danbuddy@verizon.net

What an incredible boat (and website)! Congratulations on your commissioning. As a special ops rider on the Cavalla, Archerfish, Sunfish and Spadefish, I am really envious of the technology and capability of your boat. May she serve you and our country safely in the great traditions of the Navy. Jerry Moore

My enlisted son is in Goose Creek, NC, in school for nuclear submarine. This was very interesting to learn about the next class of ship. NOTE: When viewing the page about the Alpha trials of the USS Virginia, the second picture covered up text from the article that I could not read. Thanks for the website, I will set it as a favorite.

This new sub looks great, from a submariner from the 80's and a member of the precommissioning crew of the USS San Francisco 711 and plank owner. Good luck to the crew and it's officers. email address is zigmanthefatman@yahoo.com

Gentlemen - loved your site! I am (also) an old fart bubblehead (qualled SS-489) and am just getting back into touch with old shipmates. Filling out the forms to join Mare Island Base. QUESTION - Can I get one or two WOOL FULL CAPS - enlisted - from the Virginia through or with the help of you folks? Sizes 6-5/8 & (hold on) size 8 would be great! Payment on any terms necessary. THANK YOU! John Ortman - ortman@ortmandcd.com
