This is a GREAT picture that member Robert Mayfield forwarded recently and so I thought I would use it at the top of what is going to become the continuation of a project member Roger Warden and I started a number of years ago on an earlier iteration of our Base website.

Here's a sampling of what we had built back then:

In May, 2003 a new member of USS Virginia Base, Keith Link, delivered a box of miscellaneous photos and memorabilia he had received from his sub vet father, for the Base to maintain. Base Vice Commander Roger Warden then completed the Herculean effort of cataloging all of these materials and on August 11, 2003 he provided the complete inventory list. PLEASE NOTE that we're only listing a few items from that list to give you a flavor of this project. As of March 19, 2017 we are listing only 6 items from the full list of 239 items. We also currently have only 4 of the photos scanned so far, with just one included here - so this will be a work of love with much patience being required!

Roger is also in the process of digitizing (scanning) these historic submarine service related items which will then be posted on this web site in the table below alongside their identifying name. As the items in this collection are digitized the table will be fleshed out and the images posted.
